Teresa M. Urban L.Ac., LMT
Teresa is board certified in acupuncture. She graduated from the Eastern School of Acupuncture & Traditional Medicine in Bloomfield NJ. Having interned at the Veterans hospital in East Orange, she has experience working with service members. She has worked in several clinics throughout New Jersey and has recently worked with members of the Jersey City police academy. Her treatment focus is on pain management and supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. Having lost two people close to her to drug over dose, the work she does is very close to her heart. She has a passion for educating, empowering and inspiring patients to take better care of themselves through acupuncture, dietary changes and other modalities associated with Chinese Medicine. A local to Union County, Teresa graduated from ALJ high school in 2007. She is a Rutgers graduate. She did competitive sparring and taught martial art classes in her teens and still has a passion for helping athletes recover from injuries and reach their full potential. She has earned the title Diplomate of Acupuncture from the NCCAOM and is a New Jersey Licensed Acupuncturist and Licensed Massage Therapist. She began doing massage therapy in 2009 and incorporates her palpation skills and tuina into her acupuncture practice. In 2017 she participated in a National Acupuncture Detoxification Association training where she learned to use acupuncture to support those recovering from addiction and post traumatic stress. She has experience working at a women's health facility where she did treatments supporting women before, during and throughout their pregnancies. She recently joined Acupuncturists Without Borders. She enjoys yoga, bowling and kickboxing in her spare time.
